The Story Behind Breath Ceramics

This journey began more than ten years ago.

There was a time when I wasn’t coping. I struggled with depression, and it felt like a dark blanket had settled over me, cloaking my thoughts. I often felt as though no one truly understood what I was experiencing.

So, I talked with God.

I talked with Him every day, and slowly, I began to find answers through moments, places and experiences that reminded me there was still beauty to be found.

We began taking more trips up north, discovering the incredible beauty of Western Australia, and heading south to places where wineries, beaches and open skies beckoned.

Everywhere I looked, I saw a picture of God’s creation.

And every time we travelled, I was awestruck.

I felt solitude. Serenity. A sense of calm. Most importantly, I felt at peace with who God had made me to be.

It was as though He was gently reminding me to slow down—to notice the beauty around me and to make space simply to be.

The Beginning of Breath Ceramics

In the past, I had experimented with photography, pottery and other creative pursuits. Eventually, I realised these different parts of me could come together, and Breath Ceramics was born.

My work is an expression of how I feel when I sit within that vast Australian landscape—the awe, the calm, the wonder and the beauty of it all. Through my ceramics, I hope to share a little of that feeling.

Breath Ceramics is a reminder to slow down, appreciate beauty, immerse yourself in nature and take time to simply be present.

Take a breath. Slow down. Find beauty. Simply be.
